Our primary purpose is to glorify God in all we do. We are a Christian Homeschool Co-Op that meets on Wednesdays that offers enrichment and supplemental instruction for elementary through high school. Our goal is to provide a place where children and families encourage one another, build each other up, as we equip our students on how to defend their faith.
Our group is firmly grounded in education from a Biblical worldview. The learning environment and materials used reflect the character of Christ and Christian values. We believe that with parents rests the sole responsibility for the care, training, and education of their children (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We believe that all education is religious in nature since one’s worldview is inevitably involved in all teaching. (Pr 2:1-8, 3:1-2, 6:20-33) Every disciple of knowledge, whether such as mathematics, science, and history will have its final reference point a theistic or humanistic view of reality, and there is no neutral academic discipline. (Col 1:15-20; 2:8-15)
In addition to our varied academic and enrichment classes, we provide a social situation for your children. In between classes, our students hang out, play games and eat together. Our parent volunteers coordinate field trips, events and service opportunities. While we focus on middle school and high school students, we offer enrichment and academic classes for younger elementary-aged siblings.
You can choose as little as one Wednesday class for your child/ren or as many as the schedule allows. Your student is not required to take any of our core classes; if your family just wants to take elective-type classes that is great too. Parents are not required to stay on campus, unless they are 10 and under, but do need to sign in and sign out their children. Students are not expected to stay the entire day on campus, you may drop them off or pick them up any time you wish. But, they can stay until the end of the school day (4 pm), if your family wishes.
Due to current events, we are taking extra precautions for the health and safety of our students and teachers. We have hand sanitizer in every classroom, there is a sink and hand soap in every classroom as well. We are cleaning the tables and chairs after every class, and have a strict no fever/sick policy.
Membership in the Beacon is intended for individuals who are actively engaged in homeschooling at least one (or more) of their school-aged children by September 1st. Families must complete the application, conduct a new member interview with one of our board members, and upon approval, remit the non-refundable membership dues within 10 days of approval of $120.00 for the requested school year and complete all membership forms.
Classes are led by Independent Contractors who set their tuition and supply fees. All classes are a year-long commitment unless they are specifically marked as semester-only courses.
Tuition is due prior to the first day of classes. Families with a history of dropping classes are not eligible to pay in installment payments. You may find more information in our Family Handbook.
Classes are held on Wednesdays, for 32 weeks, beginning on August 24, 2022, ending on May 3rd, 2023. We have a final showcase on May 10th and End of Year party. Orientation & Open House is held on August 17th. Public dates can be viewed on our calendar. Once a member you will be able to see other events and activities.
